Working with KRD Aviation

Who do you work with?

Mainly aircraft and engine lessors and asset managers, plus airline technical teams. Our experience covers 737/737NG, 757, 767, 747 and A320-family fleets, including CFM56 variants, PW2000 and PW4000 engine programs.

We also help aircraft owners, management companies, aviation counsel, lenders and investors when a matter involves MRO commercial risk, AD/SB exposure, downtime or a technical maintenance decision.

Do you only help with engine MRO events?

No. Engine MRO advisory is a big part of what we do, but we also handle MRO commercial advisory, AD/SB compliance, operational engineering support, records review coordination and custom aviation software.

How do you price engagements?

Every engagement is scoped to the job: the aircraft, how complex the event is, how many documents are involved, how tight the timeline is and how much support you want. Every operator's situation is different, so we don't use one price list.

How do I get started?

Use the contact form and tell us the issue, the aircraft, the maintenance event, what documents you have, your timeline and the help you need. We'll look it over and tell you whether we're a good fit.

Shop visits and MRO contracts

What does the free proposal review include?

We go through your shop visit proposal or quote for pricing exposure, workscope coverage and exclusions, turnaround commitments, warranty and remedy language and change-order rights. You get a plain summary of where the risk is and what to clarify or negotiate before you sign. The first 30-minute review is free.

Will you join the negotiation with the MRO?

Yes, if that's what you need. We can stay in the background, reviewing proposals and preparing your negotiating points, or sit in on MRO discussions with your team. It depends on what you prefer and how sensitive the negotiation is.

Can you compare several MRO proposals?

Yes. We compare scope, price, exclusions, assumptions, turnaround, warranty, change-order rights, commercial terms and overall risk. The point isn't just to find the cheapest. It's to understand the value and the risk before you pick a shop or approve a big spend.

AD/SB compliance and engineering

Do you provide AD/SB compliance support?

Yes: interpretation, compliance gap response, implementation planning, documentation review, method of compliance and work card development. It's especially useful when you've found a possible gap, need to understand your documentation exposure, or need to turn a requirement into maintenance work.

Can you write work cards or task cards?

Yes. We turn compliance requirements into practical maintenance steps, including implementation-ready work cards, task cards and engineering instructions. Final approval, execution and compliance responsibility stay with the operator and the applicable approval authorities.

Can you help with aircraft records review?

Yes. We review AD/SB records directly: applicability, status, documentation gaps and exposure. For a broader records review we coordinate trusted records-review partners when deeper diligence is needed.

Do you provide operational engineering support?

Yes, when downtime, repair uncertainty or execution risk is on the line. That includes technical issue summaries, repair-versus-replace evaluation, SRM/OEM guidance review, maintenance execution considerations and recommendations for leadership.

Do you replace the operator's approval authority?

No. We provide advisory and engineering support. Final approval authority stays with the operator, OEM, repair station, DER, regulator or other required authority.

Custom software and AI

Can you build AI tools for compliance or maintenance work?

Yes. We design and build custom software with AI built in for things like AD/SB tracking, fleet maintenance visibility, MRO proposal comparison, shop visit tracking, records review and executive reporting.

What would an AI-assisted AD/SB tracker look like?

Picture a fleet tracker that shows AD/SB applicability and status aircraft by aircraft, method and date of compliance, recurring inspections and due dates, supporting documents, work card references, open actions, NPRMs and superseding ADs. It can include an assistant that lets authorized users ask plain questions such as "Which aircraft have open AD items?" or "Summarize our compliance exposure for this fleet."

Can AI decide whether an aircraft is compliant?

No. AI doesn't replace the operator's compliance responsibility, engineering judgment or approval authority. We use it to organize, search, summarize and analyze compliance information. The final call stays with the operator and the applicable authorities.

Why would an operator want custom software?

Because spreadsheets, shared folders and email chains let things slip. Custom software gives you better visibility, fewer tracking gaps, documents in one place, earlier warning of exposure and cleaner reporting for leadership.

Legal matters

Do you give legal advice?

No. KRD Aviation isn't a law firm and doesn't give legal advice. We provide non-legal aviation support: engineering, maintenance, AD/SB implementation, MRO commercial analysis, records review and operational decisions. When a matter needs legal advice, we work alongside your own counsel.

Can KRD Aviation work alongside legal counsel?

Yes, when it makes sense. Counsel handles the legal interpretation, strategy, contract rights and representation. We handle the technical and commercial side: MRO proposals, invoices, workscopes, AD/SB status, aircraft records, maintenance documents and repair questions.
